Big Smoothie from 95X of Syracuse, New York recently interviewed John Morrison, here are some highlights.

What he enjoys most about being away from WWE:

Quote:
"It's nice to be in charge of my own destiny. That WWE express train pretty much monopolizes your own time. You're doing shows around the world non-stop, over 200 shows a year. You don't have time to pursue your own projects, or have many creative thoughts of your own. So, to be able to enjoy my family and friends, go surfing more, and work on some acting stuff, some stunt fighting, things that I've been wanting to do for a long time that I didn't have time to do recently has been pretty cool."

Quote:
Trying to get more acting gigs: "If you are going to try to get into acting, there are more opportunities in Los Angeles, where I happen to live so I'm pretty fortunate."

Input for his character on the independent circuit: "The best thing that I get... what I wanted while I was there was autonomy; Autonomy to have my own ideas to have my own platform to do what I want to do and see that come to fruition, which is really cool. Basically, having that blank canvas, being able to do what I want makes is what will happen tonight."

Lol what a weenie. I used to really like him before I heard about him and Melina and how whipped he was. I've heard many stories about how she held him back in the company. The he gets rid of her and leaves WWE! He had a ton of potential too, too bad he never capitalized on the opportunities he was given. I always thought he was a future champ when he was in WWE. Guess I was wrong.

With all the personal drama with him and Melina, it caused backstage heat for them both. That's why Morrison never won a world title. I think he could be successful in TNA.

I'd love to see them in TNA. I heard about the drama, but I think it totally wasn't all their fault, you can put some of that on Trish Stratus as well.

Hopefully he signs soon..

At the end of the day, you cause any backstage distractions or piss off someone of authority backstage you can forget about the push they had in store for you. No matter how much the fans loved you (baby face) or hated you (heel).

Is that what happened to Morrison? I thought it was more injuries that held him back.

Morrison had some injuries, but it was the backstage heat that had WWE wishing him well in his future endeavours...
